More
about the artist...
The remarkable legacy
of the renowned pedagogue and performer, Arthur Poister, lives
on through the brilliant playing of his pupil, Roger Nyquist.
An internationally known organ virtuoso and recording artist,
Mr. Nyquist is in continual demand as a recitalist and master
teacher. Technical mastery, rhythmic energy, faithfulness
to score, absolutely clean (with every note audible) and power
of musical expression are the ever present elements in a Nyquist
performance.
Nyquist garners much critical
acclaim. Fanfare Magazine states"
"Nyquist is a stimulating artist, full of alertness,
flexibility, and imagination." John Ogasapian,
writing in The American Organist, says, "...But
most of all, it is due to Nyquist's playing. It is clean,
exciting, and aesthetically satisfying, eschewing extremes
and idiosyncrasies of interpretation on the one hand and empty
displays of virtuosic technique on the other. One can
tell that the technique is there, such that he feels no need
to show it, nor we to have it demonstrated to us inappropriately.
Instead, the whole production makes a fine aesthetic whole..."
